For years now, I have listened to the discussion on CBC radio about Canada reads... Every year I think, "I should read some of those books." So yesterday I bought two. 5 Canadian works of fiction are chosen, then Feb 25th, a panel discussion begins to decide which should be number 1.

I'm starting with "Icefields" by Thomas Wharton, a story a Doctor in 1898 on an expedition in the Rockies.
I also bought "Brown girl in the ring" by Nalo Hopkinson which is about spiritual and mystical life in the inner city after a diaster...
